Virtual Financial Directorship

As a business owner, there is always a need for reliable and unbiased advice.

Our strength is that we do not see ourselves as “consultants” who advise and leave.  We assist and stay with your business for as long as you need us, to ensure that what we implement gives you value and tangible benefits.

We offer virtual financial directorship to businesses wishing to improve efficiencies, find some ‘headspace’ and to explore new ideas. However, sometimes all you need is a practical and financially minded person to help you along the way, challenge your ideas and help build fulfil your potential.

The reason that we’re virtual is because we’re not with you, throughout the whole of your working week. We’re there at the agreed time and also available when you need us. So why do we it this way? The answer is simple. The costs of a full-time CFO are high and your current accountant may not fully understand all of the intricacies of your business. So, what you need is us to fill the gap and become a resource who you see regularly who understands you and your business.

Book Keeping

We offer an in-house bookkeeping service. This service is also offered in conjunction with the VFD service.

Not only is it a statutory obligation to understand as a director or business owner the current trading performance of your business at any given time, it is also one of the most important part of your business. For us to be effective we need your financial information up to date and relevant. For many smaller businesses, this is difficult to achieve. We hope that already have

We hope that you already have in place the right people to provide the right information, but if not we have the resources to help you and your business.

Accountancy

In our world, the preparation of financial statements is not just a requirement, as we use your data to help you.

We not only provide you with your statutory financial statements, we also make sure that you fully understand them. Most importantly they are delivered on time. Not only are they are a great indicator of the historical performance of the business but, together we can learn from them and understand how decisions have been made in the past and how those decisions can affect your business’s future performance.

Financial Management & Business Coaching

We design, commission and complete regular agreed reporting to assist you in your decision making for your business.

We understand that all you may need is help to fulfil your data requirements. Having these key performance metrics and financial management information are essential to grow your business to the next level.

As well as offering financial management, we also offer bespoke business coaching on all aspects of running, monitoring and adhering to regulations of your business.

Project Management & Office Moves

If you’re looking to grow and expand your business we can help support you, however, you may require. Having an external project manager managing the move, allows you to focus is on running your business. A badly managed office move can cost you more than just money.  We ensure that there is always good and clear communication and that deadlines are met.

“Paul has been assisting Colin Smith Partnership with its succession planning and company restructuring.

His intuition, experience and clear guidance has been invaluable in providing the Partnership with a clear route to conclusion of this process”.

Succession planning for business

The main driver for succession planning is that there is the ability to personally benefit financially from this exercise and to also leave a legacy that continues to trade and is able to give you an annuity income.

Where the goodwill of the business sits with certain individuals, there is no reason why it should expire when that person leaves/retires. With careful planning, we are able to design a structure that enables you to have the security that you need to leave and also a legacy that carries on with others.

Increasingly, owner managed businesses are becoming more aware of the need to plan for the future. A key question is:  Who will take over the business in the long term?  Our experience is that many businesses leave this too late so that the business they are exiting has little value to those taking over. In some cases, successful businesses are wound up because there hasn’t been sufficient planning on how it will continue to trade.

Come and meet with us now to discuss this product, to prepare for the future. Don’t leave it too late.

Liquidations

Businesses fail or are voluntarily wound up for many reasons.

We can act as a liquidator to take the stress out of this and to ensure that the liquidation is completed to the standards expected.

Mergers and Acquisitions

We are able to assist in M&A work.

From the valuation of the business to performing the due diligence on the business. Most importantly because of the unique tie-in with Benest Corbett Renouf, we have the skill set as a group of lawyers and accountants to efficiently complete this.

Some mergers take too long, as too many unconnected parties work in silos to deliver information. We work as a team to achieve results and allow your merger or acquisition to do what was intended. Grow your business both strategically and financially.

Non-executive directorships

Our founder Paul’s main strength is the conceptualisation of ideas and scenarios. He is ideally suited to sit as a Non-Executive Director (NED).  It is important that, as business owners, we recognise the need for diverse and challenging boards and having an active NED is vitally important to do this. It’s Paul’s professional obligation as a member of the board to be an active part of the board.

Paul, prides himself on bringing diversity and challenging ideas to justify his existence at the ‘top table’.

“We have been using Paul’s consultancy services for a couple of years now and he has been invaluable to the business during this time, not only from a financial aspect but also from an ideas perspective and “thinking outside the box”.
